Gumising na nga tayo!!
I received this "enlighting" email from my classmate.. a Letter about a person who loves the Filipinos and expresses his reason towards our chaotic political world.. But before that, I want to share to all regarding our panel discussion in english that we had recently.. our topic is about YOUTH VOTERS.. We know that most of us, the youth, are not voters.. firstly, due to lack of information dessimination and secondly due to apathy of the youth..

But our apathy would only affect us, the citizens of this this country! If you are a voter, vote wisely! Choos carefully your candidates! Be aware of their track record and don't be deceive by their charisma! Dude! Charisma is useless in leading a nation.! I hope you will be enlightened by this "open letter to all filipinos" by Harvey Keh... I really want to share this to you guys.. Don't be an ignorant of your own country.. if you want you voice to be heard, VOTE WISELY!

Dear Fellow Filipino,

Good day to all of you! Before I begin my letter... just a disclaimer, for people who know me they know that I love the Philippines very much and I am not really one who rants and complaints to high heavens about what is happening to our country and does nothing about it, in fact, I feel that at my relatively young age of 27, I have done much service to the Philippines by setting up Pathways to Higher Education which has sent more than 500 poor but deserving students to college and AHON Foundation which has already built two public elementary school libraries that have benefitted more than 3,500 students. Yet, after seeing how events in our nation have transpired the past few weeks and talking with some friends, I feel the urge to share with you my own thoughts and feelings.

Over the weekend, we saw the completion of two major political alliances for this coming Senate Elections that has just began here in the Philippines. Now we have two political forces with familiar faces nonetheless on opposite sides of the fences. On one end, you have Tito Sotto and Tessie Aquino-Oreta who were two major stalwarts of the opposition and the FPJ Campaign in 2004 hobnobbing with the woman (Pres. GMA) whom they claimed to have cheated FPJ in the last Presidential Elections. On the other side of the fence, you see Manny Villar, the former house speaker who was actually responsible for impeaching Erap now part of the United Opposition who is led by no less than... Erap himself. Now if you don't see anything wrong with this picture then you must be one of the many Filipinos who have accepted this very sad reality that there is indeed no permanent ideals that our government leaders stand up for but rather they just go where there self-interests can best be served. It is this kind of politics why I no longer wonder why good people like Ramon Magsaysay Awardee Mayor Jesse Robredo of Naga City or outstanding Bulacan Governor Josie Dela Cruz will find it hard or worse, never be elected to national positions.

It is with these in mind that I'd like to share with you what are events this coming May elections that will make me consider leaving the Philippines:

1.) If former COMELEC Commissioner Virgilio Garcillano of Hello Garci fame wins in his bid to become Congressman of Bukidnon...seeking to replace a good man no less in incumbent Cong. Neric Acosta... We would really be the laughing stock of the whole world if we allow a man with the reputation of Garci to be one of our so called "Honorable Gentlemen".

2.) If Dancing Queen Tessie Aquino Oreta reclaims her seat at the Senate... I hope that all of us would still remember that dance that she did during the 2001 impeachment hearings after they voted to overrule the decision of then Chief Justice Davide... let us make sure that people like her never make it to the Senate again.

3.) If Richard Gomez becomes a senator... what does he know about making laws? We already have the likes of Bong Revilla and Lito Lapid in the Senate and their performance or lack of it would be reason enough not to elect another actor who has no prior experience in government to the distinguished halls of the Senate.

4.) If Gringo Honasan wins again.... have we not learned our lesson? I cannot believe that just because someone is charismatic then we will just elect him to become one of our senators despite the fact that he has time and again caused so much instability in our country... if we want a military junta similar to that of Thailand... then lets all vote for this guy....

5.) If Manny Pacquiao becomes Congressman of General Santos City... everybody loves Manny the Boxing Champ but Manny the Lawmaker? Lets be realistic here, Manny is our Hero alright but I think it takes more than just great boxing skills and a desire to serve to be able to make appropriate laws that would help uplift the lives of the many Filipinos who live in Poverty.

6.) If Lito Lapid wins for Mayor of Makati City... I don't like Jojo Binay as well but Lito Lapid as city mayor of the country's finance and business center?!?! And do you really think he is from Makati and has good plans for the city? The Arroyos asking someone like him to run just goes to show you how much love and concern this government has for our country.

7.) If Chavit Singson becomes a Senator, Illegal Gambling = Chavit... enough said.

Now if all of these 7 things happen during this coming elections then don't be surprised if I decide to leave this country that I love dearly. Like I said during the first part of my letter, I feel that I have done much for this country but I think its time that Filipinos become more vigilant and critical in selecting our leaders for the sake of our future and the generations that will go beyond us. So I appeal to every Filipino who asks what can I actually do for my country... Choose and vote for the right people this coming elections, huwag na tayong magpaloko sa mga kandidatong maganda lang ang jingle o gwapo lang sa mga poster. Let us choose leaders who have a good track record for service and who are genuinely committed towards serving our country.

Manindigan naman tayong lahat para sa ating Kinabukasan at para sa Kapakanan ng ating Bayan!

Thank you very much for your time in reading this letter.

Sincerely,

Harvey S. Keh

You realize that you love someone when you are already hurting… and that really sucks!
Last night, a friend of mine called me.. she was crying because she was hurting..
People get hurt when that someone he or she cared suddenly changes. It was that night that I realized the dangers of hurting.. Hurt can lead to revenge, anger, and even death. Just like love. I also got hurt, but the first thing that came out in my mind during that time was revenge. But As I continue with my journey, I realize that I have loved much that's why I am hurting. Maybe that's the reason why I don't want to be committed with someone.
My friend then asks me what she should do. I honestly told her that I don’t know. She knows that I don’t give advice, I only listen. Because I know that she knows the answer but she’s not sure of doing it. When you give advice to someone, it will either worsen his or her situation or make it better. But I want to play it safe. I don’t want to control my friend’s head nor her feelings.
It’s true that “time heals all wounds.” To fasten the healing process, you don’t need to have another guy, you just need three things, family, friends, and God. But your “hurts” will always leave a scar. You know what, I am proud that I have a lot of scars because these scars helped me be the person that I am now. I have learned from my stupid mistakes and finally loved myself.
The tendency of loving is that you let him control your life. You let him decide for yourself, and that really sucks… When you get hurt by him, you feel like you’ve lost everything! Reality is, you’ve lost yourself when you gave your life to that person. A commitment doesn’t mean that “what’s yours is his already” but It is sharing what yours without losing what you have and who you are…

\\ stupid exam \\
We just had our Philippine History and Philosophy prelimenary exams..I have to say that Phil Hist exam really sucks! I think our professor has mistaken us as Asian Studies major.. The Identification (40 items) was okay, but the 40 items matching type? duh! I think I would prefer to have a seizure.. While answering that exam, I was saying foul words to myself.. And then here comes the essay.. it was a 50 pts essay.. And I have to say that I hate that essay.. I don't know what to write anymore cause I think my brain was drained already... argh.. stupid exam!

On the other hand, I just finished my interview for my Journalism Article. Oh well, I waited an hour at Coffee Indulgence and spent 200 bucks for moccachino.. Good thing my friend was there to accompany me.. The interview was okay -- I have to stay I'm not good in interviewing people. He's a bubbly person and a smoker -- To think I have a cold today! I forgot to ask my professor regarding interviewers who don't wanna share some details but I wanna know these details.. got it? ooohh.. I'm not good at interviewing people.. and writing feature articles... Need advice in writing feature articles..

But at the end, I did something right, that is shooting the intro vid shoot of Accountancy for the Crossfire Season 7 with one of our executive producer. Funny because the shoot lasts for only 30 minutes! And these debaters are really friendly, same with the college of education debaters. I think the team from Accountancy are good debaters.. Then, our exec producer told me about our adjudicators.. Well, It was a good news until she told me about the reactions of our advisers.. oh well.. that's life..

Anyway, back to transcribing the interview with Mr. Call Center Agent... babboooosh!

[[ break up stories ]]
I know it's not a "news" anymore about K. Fed and Brit's brak-up.. but i can't help it! I'm so happy for Brit! Duh! K Fed is her kept man! and I hate Kept MEN!! I guess I became a manhater or to mellow it down.. "commitment hater".. wow! I guess I just made my own word.. hehe! I don't what's wrong with me... I suddenly fear commitments.. Sometimes I wish that I will be an old maiden.. Going back with Brit and KFed.. I saw last week at ET Tonight that Brit and Paris suddenly became best buddies.. according to the anchor, she consulted Paris for her new look.. Hmp.. I think nothing has changed regarding her LOOK at the moment! I hope she'll lose some pounds and be the young Brit that we know... Bon Voyage!

Phew.. its been a month since my last post here! nag busy busyhan lang ako.. hehe! Finally.. Sem break na! I'm glad cuz nasa house lang ako for 2 weeks.. on the other hand, i miss my province.. i just don't understand myself.. magulo kasi akong mag-isip! Last June, I told myself na di na ako uuwin sa Iligan but when i read my bestfriend's email.. OMG! I can't believe how much I miss my hometown! I miss PAN-Q, Peek-n-Berry's cakes and pastries, Tom's Diner's salads and pizzas... wow! Namiss ko lalo ung pan-q.. biruin niiyo, at 20pesos busog ka na! Tapus dun sa barbecue house kung saan kami laging kumakain ng kabarkada ko, 30pesos ang nagagastos ko lage at busog na ako nun! Compared mo sa mga carenderia dito sa Maynila, u need 50 pesos pa and you're not sure if the food they're serving is clean!

I miss my place.....

// There is no such thing as "coincidence" //
That's my word for the day..

When our class attended a talk regarding judging a Film/television awards. You see, there are two (2) incident that had happened to me for the past few months. The first one happened last summer, on our way back from boracay. The other one has something to do with my career that I want to pursue.

When you meet someone and there's something in you that tells you that he is someone "special". Special in a sense that he would be a "significant" person in your life. But I am the one who does not want to accept someone. I have closed my door for another "special someone."

I have posted my thoughts about joining a certain organization. I thought I would be a stranger in the org since I am not into film making. But as I religiously went to the office, I feel comfortable with my colleagues. I know that I would be pressured and I need to learn how to manage my time, but hey! That's reality.. If I wanna be successful someday, I need to take responsibilities.
